Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every use of the Doculate Service, including uploads, connectors, reference collections, prompts, extraction, generation, APIs, exports, and attempts to access or test the Service. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

The examples below are not exhaustive. Do not use the Service in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, or reasonably likely to damage Doculate, another person, or a third-party system.

You must not submit, process, generate, or distribute content that:

• you do not have the right, permission, or lawful basis to use;
• infringes copyright, trade marks, privacy, confidentiality, publicity, database, or other rights;
• breaches a court order, employment obligation, non-disclosure agreement, access restriction, or contractual duty;
• is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful, or designed to facilitate criminal activity; or
• contains malware, malicious instructions, stolen credentials, or data obtained through unauthorised access.

Respect the terms of connected repositories, drives, websites, and reference sources. Access provided by a connector is not proof that you are entitled to copy or repurpose everything it can reach.

You must not use Doculate to:

• impersonate another person or falsely claim their qualifications, experience, authority, consent, or endorsement;
• fabricate evidence, alter a source to conceal its meaning, or present an unsupported statement as verified;
• create fraudulent applications, credentials, invoices, reports, references, policies, or official-looking records;
• mislead a recipient about whether material was generated, reviewed, approved, or current;
• exploit, groom, threaten, stalk, shame, or harass a person; or
• plan or facilitate physical harm, self-harm, trafficking, sexual exploitation, or abuse of a child.

You may use Doculate to analyse disputed, harmful, or unlawful material for a legitimate purpose such as compliance, safety, research, journalism, or legal review, provided the use itself is lawful and appropriately safeguarded.

Do not upload personal information about another person unless you have a lawful reason and use only what is reasonably necessary. Take particular care with identity documents, health records, financial information, children's data, precise location, credentials, and information exposing a person to discrimination or harm.

You must not use the Service to:

• identify or profile people from unlawfully obtained data;
• infer highly sensitive traits for discriminatory, exploitative, or intrusive purposes;
• publish private information, credentials, or contact details to encourage harassment;
• circumvent consent, access controls, or a person's request not to be monitored; or
• build or enrich a database of personal information in breach of applicable privacy law.

Our Privacy notice explains how Doculate processes information once it is submitted. It does not create a lawful basis for you to collect or disclose that information in the first place.

You must not:

• gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to an account, workspace, source, file, system, or network;
• probe, scan, exploit, or test a vulnerability except under our responsible disclosure process and with appropriate care;
• bypass authentication, safety checks, content boundaries, usage limits, or technical restrictions;
• interfere with processing, corrupt lineage or audit records, forge checksums, or conceal the origin of a change;
• introduce malware, destructive code, denial-of-service traffic, or intentionally adversarial files; or
• use the Service to attack, monitor, or compromise a third-party system.

Good-faith vulnerability research should follow the process on our Security page. Do not access another person's content, retain personal data, disrupt availability, or publicly disclose an unresolved issue.

You must not:

• scrape, crawl, or access the Service at a rate that degrades it or exceeds documented limits;
• create accounts, credentials, or requests in bulk to evade quotas or restrictions;
• resell access, provide a competing hosted service through Doculate, or share private-preview access without permission;
• extract model behaviour, prompts, private implementation details, or datasets through systematic abusive querying; or
• reverse engineer the Service except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly allows.

Reasonable automation through a documented API or an integration we provide is welcome. You remain responsible for its volume, credentials, content, review controls, and downstream effects.

Do not use Doculate's generated material, rankings, extracted claims, or inferred relationships as the sole basis for a decision that determines another person's access to employment, housing, education, credit, insurance, healthcare, legal status, government benefits, or an essential service.

Where you use the Service to support consequential work, you must provide qualified human review, check the original sources, consider missing context, comply with applicable notice and appeal rights, and take responsibility for the decision. Do not treat a confidence score, citation, or “verified” label as a substitute for those obligations.

We may investigate suspected breaches and preserve relevant records. Depending on severity, context, and recurrence, we may warn you, limit a feature, remove or quarantine content, suspend processing, revoke access, or report activity where required by law. We may act immediately where necessary to protect a person, the Service, or evidence integrity.

Where practical, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us. To report abuse, an unsafe use, or a potential violation, email doculate@anphase.co.nz with enough detail for us to assess it. Do not include more personal or confidential information than necessary.
